FINANCES
Primary financial resources for our church planting leadership at Tokyo Multicultural Church come from churches and individuals who choose to donate to our half-time Ministry Budget or to our TMC Project Fund.Our half-time Ministry Budget is about CA$6600/mo (US$4800/mo) or CA$79,200/yr (US$57,600/yr). This foundational budget includes half the amount of the following items: salary, housing, and US medical insurance. And the following items are fully covered: airfare for our 3 trips per year to Tokyo, international medical insurance for that travel, legals for that travel (passports, visas, etc.), office supplies, internet, cell phones, banking fees (wire transfers, etc.), and mission agency admin fees (10%).
Our TMC Project Fund provides a subsidy for launching and establishing the church, costs that might not be covered by offerings of TMC members and attenders. TMC’s rental costs, including utilities, are about CA$3000/mo (US$2100/mo). Occasional rental facility costs can include: damage deposit, realtor fees (4-6 months of rent), remodeling, monthly rent, and contract renewal (2-3 months of rent).
Another important financial responsibility for TMC is taking care of its pastoral staff. TMC uses a model of multiple pastors/missionaries with a stipend available for those who need it. Those who have completed their seminary education can receive JPY100,000/mo and those who have not yet done so JPY50,000/mo. Our Project Fund can also provide a subsidy for stipends, if required.

Our foundational ministry support team consists of local churches mostly of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada or the EFC of America, as well as individuals. They contribute to our foundational Ministry Budget or our Project Fund.10 EFC Canada churches

Donations to our Christar Canada ministry at TMC can be routed through Christar Canada or Christar USA. Christar Canada has a .ca domain (christar.ca/give), whereas Christar USA has a .org domain (christar.org/give). In both cases, instructions for giving are noted.
