Pray for the Tokyo Littles — PTL #64: January 20, 2012

Our move from Tokyo to Sendai is scheduled for Jan 26

We now have a clearer idea of our schedule for moving to Sendai. We take delivery of a personally purchased used 4WD vehicle in Nagoya on Jan 21, lead several business meetings in Tokyo on Jan 23-24, pick up our ocean freight at Tokyo port on Jan 25 (The freight is primarily sewing/quilting machines for use in our tsunami recovery work.), and then finally drive to Sendai on Thu Jan 26. Once there, we will take care of legal paperwork for ourselves (new alien registrations for our new religious activities visas) and our vehicle (registration, parking permit, plates, etc.). By Sat next week (Jan 28), we should be able to begin searching in earnest for our housing options in Sendai. Once we find an apartment, we will return to Tokyo to pick up our stored belongings.

We thank the Lord for…

• the many details he is orchestrating for our move from Tokyo to Sendai.
• the prayer walk for Tokyo Multicultural Church (to be launched in early 2013) we led on Jan 12 (see here for more info).
• the used 4WD vehicle we were able to buy for our tsunami recovery work (pic here on our Facebook page).
• the generous financial gift from the EFC of China Hong Kong Overseas Missions Board that will cover most of our housing rental costs in Sendai for one year (see this post).

Please pray…

• that the Lord will provide an apartment for us to rent in the Sendai city area.
• for open hearts and doors at temporary housing units in the Sendai city area so that we will be able to minister to emotional needs and share the hope of the gospel with tsunami displaced people.
